About Me

This web site is part of a hobby I have enjoyed for many years. The Harrigan surname is found in many parts of the world. It is an interesting puzzle to try to find connections between Harrigans wherever they live.

Born in northern New Brunswick, Canada, I grew up there and finished high school in Campbellton. My father’s family had its roots in the Miramichi area of N. B. I attended Teachers’ College in Fredericton and received B.A. and B.Ed. degrees from the University of New Brunswick. For 33 years I taught school in several parts of the province, mostly math to high school students. The largest part of my teaching career was spent at Harrison Trimble High School in Moncton, N. B. I retired in June 1997.

My wife Barb and I were married on New Year’s Eve, 1968. We have three adult children: Eric and his wife Monique live in Riverview, N. B., Andrew and his wife Nathalie live in Quispamsis, Meredith, our daughter, lives with her husband, Andrew Buchanan, in Fall River, Nova Scotia. We have five grandchildren: Drew, Ella,Justin,Emilie and Sarah.

In addition to Harrigan research, my interests include travel, freelance writing, music, photography, the internet, fitness, winemaking, and collecting authentic autographs of well-known Canadians. We attend regularly St. John the Baptist Anglican Church in Riverview.
